EC-Council and RSA Security announce partnership

EC-Council and RSA Security have teamed up to offer EC-Council certification and training programs to RSA Security’s vast range of clients, partners and employees. EC-Council and RSA Security LLC (“RSA”) have partnered to offer information security skills-based training to professionals globally. The deal was constructed to allow RSA to offer EC-Council courses to the RSA clients and partners to address the widening gap between the skills required by corporations to fend off cyberattacks and the labor pool. Companies of all sizes are struggling to hire qualified network defenders and threat intelligence analysts who are integral to staffing their SOCs and to keeping their infrastructure and data secure. EC-Council’s line up of certification programs are tailored to prepare the kind of professional that corporations need to reduce risk and ensure both security and compliance. RSA will be offering EC-Council training and certification programs including for example Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Computer Hacking Forensics Investigator (CHFI), Certified Network Defender (CND), ECCouncil Certified Security Analyst (ECSA), EC-Council Certified Incident Handler (ECIH), Certified CISO (CCISO). Students will be able to choose from a variety of modes of learning including live online (virtual) and live in-person. Along with the programs themselves, and the opportunity to earn a new certification with each, is the cloud-based cyber range where students develop their tactical cybersecurity skills. This hands-on tool provides students with an opportunity to apply the program concepts to real world scenarios. According to Lisa J. Zeena, Sr. Director, RSA University, “With the growing cybersecurity skills gap, companies (in both public and private sectors) looking to recruit personnel with the required expertise to protect sensitive company information are extremely challenged. The partnership between EC-Council and RSA helps address this challenge by offering the necessary skills-based training using state-of-the-art solutions to manage digital risk.” With the escalation in cyber threats globally, organizations now recognize that an investment in security is a must. Hundreds of thousands of cybersecurity positions are unfilled in the US alone due to a shortage of cybersecurity experts. The partnership between EC-Council and RSA addresses the need to provide the required training, skills, and experience to address the cybersecurity skills gap. “In a digital world where everything is at risk of being compromised, it is critical that we produce world class cyber security talent to help curb the manifestation of “cyber insecurity” in large organizations. EC-Council’s partnership with RSA is a testament to the collective commitment of both organizations to bring high quality “hands-on” cyber security training into the heart of global institutions. This exciting alignment of RSA and ECCouncil cyber training will result in a scalable approach in creating world class cybersecurity teams with the hands-on skills and ability to perform their job duties from day one.” Jay Bavisi, CEO, EC-Council Group and Chairman of the Board, EC-Council University For more information on RSA University, the education services division of RSA and this partnership go to https://community.rsa.com/community/training. EC-Council and Extant Group Work Toward Reducing the Huge Talent Gap in the Kenyan Cybersecurity Industry, Which Threatens To Exceed 40,000 Professionals

Extant Group has entered into a collaboration with EC-Council with the aim of creating more cybersecurity ready professionals – a resolution to move closer to a common vision of bridging the large skill-gap in Africa by 2020. Through this partnership, both cybersecurity enthusiasts and professionals in Nairobi, Kenya, will now have access to EC-Council’s credentials and training, preparing them for the requirements of the industries. Africa currently faces several Internet-related challenges in relation to security risk, intellectual property infringement, and protection of personal data. The lack of financial capacity to target or monitor electronic exchanges deemed sensitive for national security, and combined with the fact that 60% of identified vulnerabilities are left unprotected, means that there is a need for more professionals. This deficiency of cybersecurity in Kenya has been attributed to the dearth of skilled cybersecurity professionals, where the expected demand of 40,000 professionals overwhelms its current supply of 1600 cybersecurity experts. “Our assertion is that effective cybersecurity training on security basics and behavioral standards is not something accomplished through a one-time seminar or awareness session. From learning the language of security to behavioral basics and changing standards, professionals of every trade can now have an opportunity through EC-Council’s (the global leader in cybersecurity certification programs) online learning to get acquainted with cybersecurity, and then stay up to date as the world grows more connected, complex, and capable of devastating hacks, scams, and breaches,” says George H Wahome, Director Consultant – Enterprise Security & Cyber Risk at Extant Group. Through this partnership, EC-Council and Extant not only ensure that they contribute to the African ecosystem with the best security practitioners in the market, but also enhance security awareness and deliver value through a new-age mode of delivering quality training and certification. “Training a taskforce that will be enabled with the right skill-set and abilities to tackle the current and arising cyber-threats seems to be among the urgent needs for the hour in Africa. Through Extant Group, our ethical hacking, penetration testing, cyber forensics, and network security credentials will now be delivered to cybersecurity enthusiasts in Nairobi,” says Akash Agarwal, Director of IMEA at EC-Council. “It is important that we create enabled, skilled professionals in the industry who can tackle complex cybersecurity problems such as social engineered hacks and fake news, both of which have been prevalent in the Africa cyber industry.” This partnership with EC-Council allows Extant to provide industry-leading, globally recognized credentials such as ANSI Accredited Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH), Computer Hacking Forensics Investigator (C|HFI), and Certified Network Defender (C|ND)––which are highly valued by employers in Kenya, as it is globally. TOP BRITISH INTELLIGENCE AGENCY, NCSC, RECOGNIZES EC-COUNCIL’S CERTIFIED ETHICAL HACKER AND CERTIFIED SECURITY ANALYST TRAINING PROGRAMS

In a showcase of trust and confidence, NCSC provided the NCSC Certified Training accreditation to EC-Council’s globally renowned Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and Certified Security Analyst (ECSA) programs. This recognition is a feather in the cap for EC-Council’s much sought-after credentials, which are among the most comprehensive programs in the field of Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing. Many intelligence agencies including the Pentagon, FBI, the US Army, and most Fortune 500 companies prefer the CEH program to enhance the knowledge and skills of their security personnel. Over the years, more than 200,000 cyber professionals were trained and certified with what has become the standard norm for hiring authorities as well as security champions. Another Recognition, Another Seal of Trust The recent recognition by NCSC was yet another top accreditation body providing its seal of trust to CEH. CEH is also accredited by the American National Standard Institute and is a recognized certification for the DoD’s computer network defense Service Providers (CND-SP’s), a specialized personnel classification within the United States Department of Defense’s information assurance workforce among many other such recognitions. Mapped to the Job Roles of Many Countries The NCSC is based on the industry-recognized and highly-respected IISP skills framework, which not only illustrates the array of skills required of information security professionals to succeed in their respective job roles, but also evaluates the precise quality of the program’s training and courseware against NCSC’s standards. The ECSA program includes a comprehensive step-by- step penetration testing methodology that improves upon the best from ISO 27001, OSSTMM, and NIST Standards. This program and the CEH program is 100% compliant with the new NICE 2.0, CREST, and IISP skills frameworks, bringing real tangible benefits to employers. This affirms EC-Council’s commitment to offering high-quality certification programs that are developed to help arm information security professionals with the right skills to safeguard the cyber world and achieve successful professional roles. Jay Bavisi, Co-Founder and President of EC-Council commented, “NCSC’s accreditation reflects not only our commitment to quality but, equally important, our approach to continuously improving as a learning organization to ensure that EC-Council has certified programs for each stage of an information security professional’s career.” NCSC is one of the three U.K. Intelligence and Security Agencies – beside MI5 and the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6). NCSC Certified Training is an initiative in the U.K., aimed at reducing the cybersecurity skills shortage. It certifies cybersecurity training programs at two levels — awareness (creating a foundation in cybersecurity) and application (an in-depth study for professionals and specialists in the field) — to differentiate the highest quality of cybersecurity training from others. During the accreditation process, the training program’s course material, quality of trainers, and course administration is rigorously assessed. Bavisi added, “We have worked extremely hard to meet the stringent requirements of the NCSC, scrutinizing and challenging every aspect of our certification and training program. This has resulted in setting a benchmark of excellence, which gives our customers even more confidence in the quality of our certification.” About EC-Council EC-Council has been the world’s leading information-security certification body since the launch of their flagship program, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), which created the ethical hacking industry in 2002.
