This year, Mr. Jay Bavisi was the recipient of the 2013 Colloquium Industry Award that recognizes outstanding leadership in industry relations with information assurance education. Jay humbly accepted the award at the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) Award Ceremony during the 17th Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education (CISSE) Conference, held June 10th – 12th, 2007, on the campus of University of South Alabama, Mobile Bay, Alabama. Founded in 1996, the Colloquium has become the leading proponent for implementing courses of instruction in information security education and provides a forum for academia, government and industry experts to discuss and form needed direction in information security undergraduate and graduate curricula, common requirements, specific knowledge, skills and abilities, certification requirements and establishment of professional certification boards. “It is truly an honor to be selected as the opening Keynote at the Colloquium 2013 as well as to receive this prestigious award. I am grateful to the entire Board and the National Security Agencies CAE Community as a whole for this award and recognition” stated Jay. Jay delivered his keynote address at the event and lent an interesting perspective, entitled “The Cyber Security Quagmire: Finding the Panacea” which aimed to elucidate the information security industry’s successes, failures, and future out of the box solutions that the cyber security industry can implement, as they learn from the pharmaceutical industry in their fight against diseases. Dr. Maconachy indicated it was the Board of Directors nomination and election to award Jay Bavisi based on outstanding leadership in promoting Information Assurance Training programs, long time advocacy in teaching ethics Information Assurance Education programs as well as generous philanthropic efforts to colleges and universities around the nation, and his leadership in developing cyber competitions in information assurance. Jay, is the Co-Founder and President of one of the largest IT Security certification bodies in the world, EC-Council, and the co-creator of the groundbreaking Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification that launched ethical hacking as a mainstream career. Jay has been widely credited for being the brain child of the Global Cyberlympics competition that is supported by the Secretary General of the International Telecommunications Union a United Nations Agency, whose patron is Dr. Hamadoun Toure. Bavisi’s other work at the EC-Council Foundation includes the announcement of a grant of $350,000 toward the wounded warrior program that aims to retrain wounded warriors to become cyber warriors. Cyber Security Professional of the Year

2015 – Jay Bavisi has been recognized by CyberSecurity Malaysia for his contribution to protect cyberspace and advance the cyber security profession. The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Malaysia (MOSTI) and CyberSecurity Malaysia today named Jay Bavisi, President and CEO of EC-Council, as the Cyber Security Professional of the Year, 2015. Jay is the Chairman of the Board, EC-Council University, and CEO of EC-Council Group, the world’s leading information-security certification body since the launch of their flagship program, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), which created the ethical hacking industry in 2002. Formed following the 9/11 incident, EC-Council addresses issues of cyber terrorism raised at the forefront of security of nations at large. EC-Council, une certification mondiale et l’organisme de formation dans le domaine de sécurité des informations, a appelé à des mesures plus rigoureuses les sûr les infrastructures en Inde. Citant la récente vague de cyber-attaques contre les sites Web du gouvernement indien, EC-Council a exprimé des préoccupations quant au manque de professionnels dans le domaine de la cyber sécurité. Il a suggéré que le pays devraient investir davantage en formation jeune il professionnels ainsi que la création d’une infrastructure robuste pour une cyberdéfense robuste. Lors d’une manifestation qui s’est tenue à New Delhi, EC-Council Global Président Jay Bavisi souligné Chine est estime que 25 millions d’experts en cybersécurité tandis que 1,25 lakh sont du gouvernement local. Les Etats-Unis ont 91, 080 experts au sein du gouvernement, alors que l’Inde a juste 556 experts. Bavisi a également mis en évidence le modèle réussi du US Cyber Security Plan, qui prévoit des spécialistes de la cyber sécurité 15 % de plus chaque année. “Alors que les points de données montrent que nous perdons le combat, il est clair que la solution à la peste arrivera quand nous va injecter le vaccin. Il est évident que la meilleure façon de résoudre le fléau du cyber est en introduisant un programme de cyber-vaccin qui est nécessaire pour commencer à tous les niveaux de la société par le biais des plans d’études combatif, » dit Jay Bavisi. CE-Conseil fait remarquer l’étude récente qui a révélé des menaces de logiciels malveillants local 5,39 millions ont été détectés sur les ordinateurs en Inde. Selon l’organisation, l’Inde est en retard dans sa lutte en cyberguerre. Toute attaque feront l’objet d’une perte financière, peu importe comment sophistiqué est de l’attaque. Du gouvernement Cyber sécurité politique 2013, Jay Bavisi dit la politique semble être très bien sur les papiers, mais il faudrait mettre davantage l’accent sur la mise en œuvre. Critiquant la rouge-tapism dans le pays, Bavisi a dit, “il devrait y avoir un organisme distinct pour la cyber sécurité, avec des rôles clairement définis. Le gouvernement devrait sortir avec directives plutôt politiques.” Il était aussi sceptique quant à l’objectif du gouvernement de créer un effectif de 5,00,000 professionnels qualifiés en cybersécurité dans un proche avenir. S’exprimant sur la sensibilisation à la sécurité indien cyber, Akash Agarwal, a commenté, “le pays a besoin de 5 lakh cyber sécurité professionnels d’ici 2015. Conformément à cette exigence, EC-Council par sa présence et les efforts déployés en Inde direst a créé une capacité de 20 000 + et est bien emote pour doubler dans les prochains mois 12 période. “
